Upon waking, Xeal wasted no time in checking his messages and seeing the detailed situation report. It showed that Abysses End had moved about four hours after the announcement of the first player reaching tier-7 went out. This had been a full-out assault that leveraged every avenue that they had to use, to attack countries with a strong connection to FAE. The situation was the worst in the Huáng empire as in just the 12 hours since the assault had begun, a city had fallen and it looked like the next dominoes were about to fall in another 12 hours. At the current moment, 86 members of FAE had passed their tribulations with over 5,000 failures and Amser had finally been the first to reach the new tier. Takeshi had also finished his demon mode tribulation an hour after Xeal and was done recovering and was just waiting on orders, as it was a mess everywhere that you could look. Particularly as the second wall fort on Nium’s border with Paidhia had fallen and they had pushed into the countryside. This meant that Paidhia was occupying territory in both Nium and Habia, while neither of them had gained any of their own.

The situation at the Nium and Habia border was only stable due to the lack of an assault there, as Abysses End seemed to be planning to wait for the forces there to be sent to reinforce elsewhere before attacking. Kate, who had also completed her demon mode tribulation two hours after Xeal, had put forward that they were waiting for Xeal to be spotted on another battlefield before moving to take that point. Either way, Xeal couldn’t sit still as he started to make his moves as he put out the orders for all new tier-7 players to carry out a counterattack in Nium, with the exception of Takeshi and Kate. Xeal needed both of them if he wanted to salvage anything from the situation in the Huáng empire, as Xeal started to make his way to Hura Crepitans’s home where Belladonna the poison phoenix was located.

As Xeal started what would be a four-hour trip thanks to his level and his fighting spirit ability that made all monsters run from him at this point, he looked at his class skill menu. Thanks to him saving his points up and the 185 bonus points he had earned from completing his tribulation, Xeal had a total of 406 points to spend. The first thing he did was spend the 75 points needed to upgrade dragon’s breath to level 4 and find the advanced skill aura control and pick it up for 50 points. Xeal just smiled as aura control was a passive and active skill like fighting spirit and calm mind, and basically replaced both of them as a better version of both. For two MP and SP a second, Xeal could essentially weaponize his charisma, mixed with his strength and constitution scores, to create an effect similar to what bards’ basic inspire courage, or dread, would do.
